Creative Friends--it's true, these are uncertain times, and you may be feeling confused and frustrated. You may find it difficult to make your art. You may think—what's the point? No one is listening. But, I am here to tell you that I am listening and a whole lot of other people are listening. Please—do not let the bullies silence your brilliant voice, for if you do—we will truly have lost the battle, not to mention the war.
I just finished my first novel and am starting to send it to agents in the US and publishers in France. I am creating Le Cercle des Femmes. I am working on client business. I refuse to have T and his ilk get me down. Thanks for the support!! We should Zoom this spring
Yes. And on your urging, I've unpacked my very old set of watercolors and paper. It's time to draw the emerging inflorescence of nature. I am out of practice, no doubt, but somehow, I see my old style showing forth in my timid efforts. Nature shows off splendidly in growing zone 7a during April. What a colorful display!
All during Covid, I lost my moxie and did no art. All I was doing was watching/listening to travel zooms and trying to get outside and walk a bit. Carrying my large Nikon camera became a burden. Yes, I took loads of photos on my iPhone, but it's just not the same. Feel at a loss on how to get back!
Us story tellers are like oysters that can take in bits of grit and sand and turn them into pearls. Bullies and terrible times can be the sand in our creative lives. Onward Jamie and onward all!
